The path to company succession can begin with a leisurely day trip. Whether casually alone or with a family member or, more formally, with a succession adviser: The original Walk of Change starts in Eltville, a small, winemaking town on the Rhine River. From there, the three-hour circular walk leads through the picturesque Rheingau countryside. Alternatively, users can choose any hiking or walking trail of at least six kilometres (approx. 1.5 – 2.5 hour walk). We recommend a route without many distractions that meanders through nature. To allow enough time for reflection, the app is designed to require walking at least 500 metres between questions.

At each of the ten stops, the "Walk of Change" app offers a specific question for company owners and successors to contemplate. Responses or initial thoughts that arise while hiking through the vineyards can be saved directly in the app as a voice memo.
