Mazars continues to grow: merger with Lohrmann Riehle Lätsch Durach & Partners

December 11, 2019 - Berlin/Stuttgart – Mazars, the auditing and tax consultancy, will be merging with the Stuttgart office of Lohrmann Riehle Lätsch Durach & Partners, effective from January 1, 2020. A team of almost 60 people – half of whom are highly qualified consultants – will be joining Mazars in fields including tax consulting, legal consulting, audit and accounting. Five partners are also joining Mazars: Helmut Lohrmann, Stefan Riehle, Dr. Wolfgang Durach, Frank M. Müller and Steffen Rapp.

Lohrmann Riehle Lätsch Durach & Partners has been one of the most successful consulting companies in Baden-Wuerttemberg for over 20 years and is an excellent fit into Mazars’ portfolio. Both companies advise owner-managed small and medium-sized enterprises in similar sectors and share the same core values, for example, placing an emphasis on building appreciative, personal and trusting relationships with clients. “Through this merger, we are strengthening our market position in the southwest of Germany and in the booming Stuttgart region,” explained Dr. Christoph Regierer, Managing Partner at Mazars. “Not only are our portfolios highly aligned, but we also have an excellent cultural fit. Together with our new clients, we will leverage the opportunities offered by digital transformation and further expand our expertise in the automotive sector."

Lohrmann Riehle Lätsch Durach & Partners will benefit from Mazars as a nationwide-wide growth platform in the German market as well as from Mazars' customer portfolio in international large-scale industry. Partner Helmut Lohrmann believes that the merger will put the firm in an excellent position for the future: "By joining Mazars, we will be able to offer our clients an even broader service portfolio and also support and accompany them in transnational issues in a multidisciplinary and friction-free manner. In this way, we can not only meet their requirements, but also exceed them."

As a company, Mazars has recently achieved strong growth, particularly in the legal sector. At the beginning of 2019, a team of 15 lawyers and industrial engineers headed by Dr. Hans-Martin Dittmann with a focus on Public Services/Energy joined the company from PwC. In October, Dr. Andreas Eckhardt, an employment lawyer in Hamburg, and Dr. Christian Ziche, an M&A expert in Dresden, joined the team.
