Profile
Dr Thiemo Schäfer has been a partner at Mazars since March 2024 and is responsible for the firm's Dispute Resolution department. Dr Thiemo Schäfer advises and assists our clients in protecting their interests before German civil courts. He specialises in post-M&A, insolvency, commercial and corporate disputes. Dr Thiemo Schäfer also has particular experience in the area of litigation finance.
Prior to joining Mazars, Dr Thiemo Schäfer worked for a total of 10 years in international law firms (McDermott Will & Emery and Luther) and a multidisciplinary partnership (Andersen). During his legal clerkship, he gained international experience at an international law firm in London. He also worked at the German Consulate General in New York. Dr Schäfer holds an LL.M. in commercial law, is a certified specialist in commercial and corporate law and is the author of numerous publications, in particular on insolvency law.
